Dr. Raghuvir K. Kini completed his MBBS from the prestigious Seth G. S. Medical College and KEM Hospital in Mumbai in 2006. He then completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Minto Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore, in 2009 and Prabha Eye Clinic, Bangalore in 2011.
He was inducted into the International Council of Ophthalmology as a Fellow in 2011. He was awarded the ICO scholarship grant to complete a fellowship in Neuro ophthalmology and Strabismus at the Leicester Royal Infirmary in the United Kingdom in 2012. He was awarded the FRCS (Ophthalmology) degree from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2013.
Dr. Raghuvir has many peer reviewed publications in international journals to his name and has won the Prof. Narsing Rao award for Best Paper at the Uveitis Society of India meet in 2009. His main areas of interest are cranial nerve palsies affecting the eye, ophthalmic manifestations of demyelinating diseases, congenital and acquired optic nerve disease, strabismus and nystagmus.
He currently works as a Consultant in Neuro ophthalmology and Strabismus at Prabha Eye Clinic in Bangalore. He also runs the outpatient department in neuro ophthalmology at NIMHANS, Bangalore as a clinical assistant in Neuro ophthalmology, and the pediatric ophthalmology outpatient department at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health as a visiting consultant.
